StaffTad Mallory Co-founder and president, Tad knew in high school that he wanted to be self-employed. But, like most successful business owners, he didn’t start off that way. After college graduation in 1986, he took up commercial banking. And all went well in the numbers business for about six years, until Tad took a vacation in Seattle. There he got a real good taste of the west coast coffee scene and saw his opportunity. So, in 1992, Carolina Coffee Service was born. Shortly thereafter, the name was changed to West End Coffee. Maureen Mallory Co-founder, Maureen Mallory was a nursing major in college and drank a lot of coffee. She met Tad who worked at a bank and drank even more coffee. Before they knew it, they were married and drinking coffee together as owners of Carolina Coffee Service. Maureen currently helps Tad a few days a week as well as caring for their three children. And naturally, she still drinks plenty of coffee. Barbara Rigg After 11 years as Director of Client Relations and Vice President of a local distribution / transportation company, Barbara was looking for a slower pace and shorter workdays. And while her pace hasn’t slowed one iota, she at least got the shorter workdays. Barbara’s passion for all things coffee and appreciation for independently-owned coffee companies, makes her the perfect employee for virtually every aspect of West End Coffee’s operations. And so, she does a little bit of darn near everything, from the back office to servicing our customers. Craig King Craig is the roast master at West End Coffee. He has worked with Deidrich and Probat, the leaders in roasting technology, learning and developing his craft. Away from the roaster, Craig performs regularly with area orchestras and ensembles, putting his degree in trumpet performance from Yale University to very good use. Tim Comstock Tim came to South Carolina about 6 years ago from Florida where he was in the vending business. He started working at West End Coffee as a delivery driver and as someone who enjoys interacting with customers and delivering supplies to a variety of places and people, he’s an invaluable member of our team. Tim is responsible for servicing most equipment and spends most of his time outside our walls in the community. |
