Our Story

West End Coffee Co., Inc. has humble beginnings. In September of '92 Tad Mallory was looking for a way to get out of the stuffy banking profession and into a small business of his own. After traveling several times to the West coast on vacation and seeing the prolific coffee market marching forward, he decided to combine his love for coffee with his desire to be self-employed into Carolina Coffee Service which later was changed to West End Coffee Co. At first we were selling institutional coffee out of a delivery van (Yuck) and using a spare bedroom for our warehouse. In '96 we bought a small coffee roasting company in Asheville, NC and moved into a small commercial building. We thought we had arrived! We had so much room! Fortunately that lasted only two years and we were able to purchase our own building in a quickly developing historical section of Greenville called the West End. During this time we really started learning about specialty coffee and what it takes to make a great cup of coffee. We try everyday to translate our coffee knowledge into great cups of coffee at our patrons fine dining establishments.
